MOT services

We offer a number of services to MOT testing stations, Authorised Examiners and Nominated Testers, whether to improve the quality of your testing at present or offer assistance when threatened with disciplinary action from the Vehicle Inspectorate (VI).

	Quality control A VI approved quality control (QC) check that conforms to their guidelines. We can check each tester once a month on all areas of the test. The check is conducted while watching the test being carried out. Included in the check is a full written report which proves to the VI that your station has a QC system over and above the minimum requirements, This may gain your testing station credit points.
	Incognito Check As above, but without the knowledge of the tester. This can take place at a time of your choosing or a random time. This check can include all aspects of your customer service in addition to the usual MOT test guidelines, much like the Mystery Shopper system of quality control. We can check your testing station on anything you require, from the way in which customers are treated to the appearance of your waiting rooms and toilets. Again this may gain you credit points.
	Station Check A complete station check including: workshop equipment, condition and calibration certificates, wall charts and testing signs, Special Notices and documents. This ensures that not only are your staff testing correctly but that the premises are within VI guidelines.
	NT Check A one off QC as detailed above, which can be conducted in conjunction with the station check.

All the above are completed with a full report detailing any findings with advice and recommendations.

However, should the worst happen and the VI are threatening your authority with disciplinary action or removal from the scheme we can help.

	Representations We will interview all relevant parties and conduct a full investigation and prepare a written report for the VI on your behalf. We will also attend inverted appeals on your behalf to ensure a fair outcome for you and your staff.
	Reauthorisation If the worst may come and your authorisation is removed we are also able to assist the reauthorisation of the testing station including completion of application forms and production of scale plans.
